Yes, you can.

As a fitness and yoga professional, I often hear people say, "I can't work out because I'm out of shape" or "I can't do yoga because I'm not flexible." It saddens me because I know that these beliefs are holding them back from something truly transformative.
If this sounds familiar, I’d like to invite you to look at things a little differently.
Think back to when you were a child. Even if you weren’t the fastest runner or the strongest climber, did you ever tell yourself you couldn't do something? Sure, you might have found certain activities challenging, and maybe you decided not to do them, but chances are, you didn’t define yourself by "can't."
So why, as adults, do we let “can’t” creep into our thinking? Is it really that we can’t do something, or have we just convinced ourselves it’s easier not to try?
Here’s the truth: you are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for. And the beauty of starting a fitness or yoga practice is that you don’t have to be “ready” or “in shape.” A good instructor or trainer understands the courage it takes to begin, and they meet you right where you are. Then, step by step, they guide you toward where you want to be.
So here’s my invitation to you: be brave and take that first step. No, it won’t always be easy—growth rarely is—but the rewards are worth it. Each class, each session, is an opportunity to discover your strength, flexibility, and resilience.
Say yes to the challenge. Attend that class. Schedule that 1:1 session. See where it takes you. You just might surprise yourself—and I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
